DSM Resins
Strategic support for mixture SDS and practical support for SDS assessment
A strategic company specific workshop on how to organise an SDS Assessment on location has resulted in a practical implementation approach at DSM Resins and DSM Composites Resins. In the workshop the SDS Assessment approach as developed for LyondellBasell was discussed. Both business groups of DSM have adopted and successfully implemented the SDS Assessment approach on location.
At the end of 2012 DSM Resins qualified our approach at a conference as 'best practice' implementation of the downstream user assessment of comprehensive SDS for the industry.
In the period 2015 - 2017 DSM Resins actively supported the development of the generic SUMI method by Jongerius Consult and Caesar Consult. The generic SUMI method offers a complete and automated solution to generate "Safe Use Mixture Information (SUMI)" with the mixture of safety data sheets as an interpretation of the REACH obligation of formulators.
On the recommendation of DSM Resins, Jongerius Consult supported the Resin Technical Platform in the period 2016 - 2018 with input of the interests and views of the "in-between" formulators in the Exchange Network on Exposure Scenarios (ENES). The Generic SUMI Method has been suggested as a possible practical solution.
